Medical Assisting (Non-Credit Career Track Certificate)

WARREN’s program is accredited as a 1 + 1 program with two pathways available for funding or financial aid: 1) career track (non-credit) certificate or 2) an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.)*

*A.A.S. degree option is available to students who complete the entire Medical Assisting program and wish to matriculate into the degree program.

Outcomes data

Warren’s 5-year retention rate is 82.42%, the 5-year job placement rate 88.89%, and the 5-year passage rate on the CMA exam is 86.25% for the years 2020-2024.

Our 760-hour program includes the following courses:

  • Anatomy/Physiology/Pathology – 60 hours
  • Medical Terminology – 60 hours
  • Pharmacology & Medication Administration- 60 hours
  • Psychology & Therapeutic Communications – 60 hours
  • Medical Office Laboratory- 60 hours
  • Clinical Assisting – 60 hours
  • Healthcare Law & Ethics – 60 hours
  • Insurance/Coding/Managed Care – 60 hours
  • Medical Office Laboratory – 60 hours
  • Computerized Office Procedures – 60 hours
  • Clinical Externship Practicum – 160 hours

Requirements for admission: 18 years of age, HS Diploma or equivalent, must schedule a personal interview with the program director, and must pass a criminal history background check.

Cost: $5,949 Tuition and Fees + $175 Cengage Unlimited Subscription for Textbooks

Location: Medical Assisting classes are held at WARREN’s Phillipsburg Education Center.

Graduates of the medical assisting program may be eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants  (AAMA) Certification Examination to become a Certified Medical Assistant. Employment opportunities include physician’s office, and other outpatient, ambulatory healthcare environments.
